Merry Christmas! / This is me.

Merry Christmas People.

I sent out Christmas letters like a real adult this year! But that’s where the “adultness” ended. The content and delivery were not so adult-like. The best part was my last minute addition of real pine needles to each of the cards. I like to call it “Christmas confetti”. My little friend Randii opened the card in her bed. Pine. Needles. Everywhere. Cheers.

If I didn’t send you a card of your own, it doesn’t mean I don’t love you!

December 2013

It’s been a while since life settled down enough to write a Christmas letter. Between actually doing homework this semester, spending time on Facebook, and getting my pants stuck in my bike chain – a near life-threatening experience – this year has been crazy to say the very least. But thankfully I found a little time amidst all that!

Good news is, I traveled to 11 countries this year and now am broke – yay! The coolest part is, I stayed in 15+ hostels and was neither snatched, nor bitten by bed bugs. But seriously, my time in Ireland was collectively the best experience of my life: from celebrating my 21st on St. Patrick’s Day, to drinking at traditional sessions (live music) in pubs, to meeting some of the most wonderful people. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I did not fall in love with a European man, which I’m sure you’re all thrilled about – especially Steve.

Well enough about me…now onto the important people in my life. My boyfriend, he basically is the best thing that hasn’t happened. Cheers. And my children…thankfully none. I would rather have a baby dinosaur at this point, or two pet otters. Not saying I wouldn’t like to borrow a baby for a day. That offer remains on the table.

My sister moved out to California in September with her boyfriend, Danny. Tolerable lad. Although their car decided to fall into an eternal snooze outside of Vegas, they made it to their destination, Santa Barbara. They moved into an apartment and have since moved into “family housing”, because they’re getting ready to have a balcony and more sunlight. And it was cheaper and still within walking distance of the beach. She turned the ripe old age of 23 in October. Nice girl.

My parents have been married for 29 years as of November 10th, which means they’ve been tolerating each other for even longer. Just kidding, I think they like each other a whole lot. My dad purchased a “new” boat recently and I’m pretty sure my mom REALLY loves it. 😉 She’s already talked about selling our house and just living on the water. I think she’s kind of going overboard with the whole idea, but I’m down with whatever floats her boat really. Oh and she turned 50 on December 11th! Wish her a big FIVE OH if you see her!

As a human being myself, I am currently applying to grad schools across the country (IA, IL, OH, IN, WI & CA). My plan is to obtain a Master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs to work at a university, but it’s not set in stone. Other ideas are to start a career counseling business, become a business consultant, become an author like I have been encouraged to do, take up a nomadic life, or potentially become Jane Goodall II. The possibilities are endless really! This year I’m living in a house with five of my friends at school. We have one semester left before we graduate and I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world…except Aaron Rodgers.

I just want to wish you and yours (“yours” not limited to family and friends, but favorite foods, drinks, sweaters, hopes & dreams) a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year. Example: Wishing You & Your Bacon Cheeseburgers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I cannot even believe it’s almost January. Time sure does fly as we all grow older. It’s nearly been a year since I left for Ireland! Cheers my friends. I think you’re all quality people and I wish you the very best.

I crack myself up.
